We review a lot of bands via sonicbids and it always disappoints us when people don’t put forth the due diligence to improve their chances of being selected for either management, a licensing opportunity or being on a compilation.  Please do the following (ALWAYS):

1.  Music should be unique, relevant with most recent material posted and don’t forget the lyrics

2.  Put up your best video of your live performance or your creative videos but we prefer the former

3.   Demonstrate that you’ve been touring and really want this – touring is what helps bands grow and the live show is critical to ones success!!

4.   Image should represent a cohesive band unit – hire a stylist, a good photographer, etc.

5.  Bio’s should be full of quantifiable details – ie. # of cds or downloads sold, # of facebook fans, # of twitter followers, # of concerts performed, etc.  Nobody cares about how you met Billy at the gas station who introduced you to Bobs cousin from New York, etc.  Think about what the top performers today would have in their bio and strive for it; don’t cut yourself short!!

Until you’ve done any of this…I wouldn’ t waste your hard earned money on submitting to anyone, respectfully!!!

Out of Step Entertainment is ready to be represented at this summers Vans Warped Tour to promote the GREEN WASHED RITUAL music compilation.  We’ve been reviewing hundreds of bands for this new compilation and thus far, we’ve only selected 1 who we will announce soon, and possibly a 2nd from sonicbids.com We’ll likely bring back a few of the bands who we highly respect from the 1st compilation – like Rebelution, Slightly Stoopid and Pepper.

Look for BambooSK8/Concrete Wave booth at the 43 dates of the  summer concert – Warped tour – stop by and check out the bamboo skateboards, organic tshirts and other goodies that will be given out.  Most importantly is picking up a postcard which gives you access to all the songs from the compilation.  Be sure to support the passport program at the event and support the non-profits please!!  We collectively can change the world!!
